Week Three: Online Meetings

I viewed a portion of Brenda Hough's webinar on Wimba, "Introduction to the Kansas Creativity Group Archive." I found it to be interesting. It is somewhat frustrating, however, to see the message that the Java that is on the computers at Leavenworth Public Library is a newer version than the one that is running.

The webinars that I choose to view are the ones in which I have a great interest. It helps when I have the time to be able to view them away from the Reference Desk. I am motivated to be able to see a demo through a webinar of a new piece of software, such as Illuminar.

Week Two: Online Communities

As I already had a Facebook page, I asked a couple of 23 Things Kansas participants who I had not friended to be my friends for this exercise. I'm hoping to share my online experiences with them. I enjoy using Facebook to keep in contact with friends and family around the country. I did link my blog to it. I like the way we can connect our various online pages.

Week One: Blogging

My name is Debby Williamson and I am a reference librarian at Leavenworth Public Library. I am interested in learning about the newer technological tools. This way I can use them here at work, particularly with our younger patrons.

I'm pleased to have been able to complete the establishment of my blog! It worked just as you demonstrated. At first, however. I forgot what my url was. So, I'm going to try to remember to write all of this information down! I'm also interested in learning about the other participants and the 22 things yet to come.
